The best soundbar of 2020 isn't from Sonos, Yamaha or even Sennheiser—it's this wickedly cool, special edition home speaker from Porsche Design crafted from an actual muffler and tailpipe assembly of a 911 GT3. Porsche Design has offered this sports car-inspired home speaker in the past; however, this is the latest and loudest version with a premium 2.1 virtual surround system and Dolby Atmos 300-watt amplifier. It also comes with 4K-compatible HDMI connections, built-in Chromecast, Spotify Connect and multi-room synchronization. The many features and high-end sound quality are what you come to expect from Porsche. I've listened to the previous 200-watt model and surprisingly, it's not just to look pretty, but can fill a living room with an abundance of crisp and clear music.
The extravagant soundbar is manufactured in Germany and offered with a white housing and either a gloss or matte black finish on the exhaust section. Each soundbar comes with a numbered plaque to make it that much more special. Perhaps the only downside is what you'll be charging your credit card... As you can imagine, this isn't something you can pick up off Amazon Prime for a few hundred dollars. This is as premium as it gets, and list price is said to be $4,750. It won't be hitting Porsche Design stores and select dealerships until December 2020, so better start saving your pennies.
