TECHART Porsche 992 Revealed

German tuner unveils slate of mods for the next-gen 911

The 992 is not a year old and already TECHART has whipped up a compelling suite of modifications for the eighth generation Porsche 911. The customizing slate includes exterior styling and aero, interior enhancements, power and exhaust upgrades, and new forged wheels for the 911's mixed 20-/21-inch tire configuration, with the TECHART body kit and wheels entirely manufactured in Germany.

All exterior bits use the 911's standard mounting points. The body kit includes a new five-piece TECHART Front Spoiler I with splitter that looks like it's floating inside the surrounding bodywork, and design "trims" on both sides of the spoiler, as well as two-tone paintwork. Two-piece TECHART Airframes highlight the two air intakes at the front of the 911, and in front of the wheel arches on both sides of the front fascia are the side air outlet trims. The TECHART Front Spoiler I also fits on 911 models equipped with Porsche's SportDesign package and can be installed without removing the 911's front apron.

The multi-piece Side Skirt design divides the skirts into an inner and outer skirt, and they end with a shark-like fin in front of the rear wheel arches. In back, TECHART offers its five-fin Rear Diffusor for the 911's rear apron, as well as Aero Wings above the diffusor to surround the sports car's exhaust exits.

A profiled TECHART Roof Spoiler can send air to one of two TECHART rear spoilers available for the 992; version I is the subtler of the pair, mounted to the standard rear spoiler. Version II appears to be fixed on just one central upright, an illusion created by the use of glass-like spoiler uprights made of Makrolon. The transparent and high-tensile polycarbonate allows the rear wing to rest on the engine cover, which has also been redesigned for the new TECHART Rear Spoiler II. It incorporates two air intakes as well as an additional braking light.

For the Carrera 4S version of the 992, TECHART has its Techtronic engine management to wring out another 60 horsepower and 60 lb.-ft. of torque from its turbo 3.0L flat-6, which is activated in the 911's Sport and Sport Plus driving modes; the system also integrates with the Porsche's traction control. A throaty-noted exhaust rounds out the car's new buff power profile, equipped with a valve that allows the driver to switch from standard power and sound to increased performance combined with sporty driving growl.

For the corners, TECHART has a new forged wheel design, the Daytona II, that is said to be a modern interpretation of its popular classic wheel for the 996. Daytona II rims are available in 20-inch and 21-inch for the mixed tire configuration of the new 911 models, and like every TECHART wheel, can be configured individually in one- or two-tone color. The new wheel fits flush with the wheel arches thanks to an optional TECHART sport suspension that lowers the chassis of the 911 by 30 mm.

Rounding out TECHART's menu of mods for the 992 are cabin upgrades including upholstery in leather and virgin wool, introduced by the tuning company in 2018 for the new Cayenne and now using it for the 911's interior. Illuminated carbon door sill plates, sporty aluminum pedals, handcrafted TECHART sports steering wheels and much more are also available to further individualize your new P-car's cockpit.
